Carter Lake Dredging Set for June

Officials from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality have decided to chemically treat 100 acres of  in the coming week, reports southwestiowanews.com.

DNR SW fisheries supervisor says that the main goal of the lake restoration project was to improve water quality.

Lake Dredging is set to begin in late June or early July.

Dredging will remove about 88 thousand cubic yards of silt from the bottom of the Carter Lake.

Total cost of the project when completed will be about $6 million.
