USA: County Officials Call for Oak Orchard Harbor Dredging

Orleans County officials this week called on the federal government to dredge the shallow harbor at the Point Breeze.

County officials said that the sediment hasn’t been removed from the Oak Orchard Harbor since 2004.

According to thedailynewsonline.com, the harbor is now so shallow in some spots that boats in there are running aground or being damaged.

We need immediate federal assistance to keep our harbor and its businesses operating,” said David Callard, Legislature chairman.
