USA: Duff Pleased with Completion of Norwalk Harbor Dredging

Duff Pleased with Completion of Norwalk Harbor Dredging

State Senator Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) issued the following statement on the completion of the multi-phased Norwalk Harbor dredging process:

For over ten years now the recreational boaters, fishermen and commercial shippers of Norwalk’s maritime community have been calling for improvements to our city’s harbor. After a great deal of work, millions in state and federal funding and the movement of hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of sediment, the dredging of Norwalk Harbor is finally complete—and I couldn’t be more pleased.

“Our new and improved harbor will now be more productive than ever, and we can expect a big boost to our local economy. The maritime industries have always lain at the core of Norwalk’s identity, and we now have the modern, safe and accessible harbor our city deserves.

“I am very grateful to the members of the Norwalk Harbor Management Commission, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the many federal, state, and local officials who have worked so hard over so many years to see this project through.”
