USA: FERC Revises Cameron LNG EIS Schedule

FERC Revises Cameron LNG EIS Schedule

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has released a notice of a revised schedule for the completion of the environmental impact statement (EIS) for Sempra Energy’s Cameron LNG export project in Lousiana.

The first notice of schedule, issued April 4, 2013, identified November 22, 2013 as the final EIS issuance date.

FERC’s  September 2013 Project Update identified questions and concerns from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), which Cameron LNG has subsequently responded to.

On November 18, 2013, the DOT identified no objection to Cameron’s methodology for determining the candidate design spills to establish the required siting for its proposed LNG liquefaction facilities.

As a result, FERC revised the schedule for issuance of the final EIS.
