Georgia to Host Annual State of the Ports Luncheon

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce will host its 4th Annual State of the Ports luncheon tomorrow.

Doors open at 11:30 am at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. With Georgia’s ports being tremendous economic powerhouses, the luncheon will feature a conversation with Governor Nathan Deal, Georgia Ports Authority Director Curtis Foltz, and Steve Larson, Vice President, Caterpillar Inc. and President of Caterpillar Logistics Inc. discussing the critical role Georgia’s transportation and logistics systems play in the state’s long-term economic development.

In that the Record of Decision to move forward with the deepening of the Savannah River from 42′ to 47′ has been given, the timing of this event would allow media to have a chance to learn more about the approval process and the future of the port’s infrastructure improvements.

The panel discussion will start at 12:30 pm and will be wrapped up no later than 1:30 pm.
