USA: International Torque Specialist Announces Major Deal

Aberdeenshire-based AMC Engineering Ltd, the main arm of AMC Global Group, has just completed a deal with Halliburton Energy Services.

The deal involved the creation of two sets of five containers which form mobile workshops for initial use in the Middle East and Africa. The bespoke workshops were designed and fabricated by AMC Engineering Ltd in close consultation with Halliburton Energy Services and will be used specifically for the assembly of drilling tools in remote locations.

The custom-built, self-sufficient workshops feature torque machines, Jar testers, MWD assembly, power containers and storage. They are designed to be fully mobile and have a short commissioning time making them ideal for use anywhere in the world, without the need for infrastructure.

AMC Engineering Ltd was established in 1988 and specialises in the bespoke design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of market leading torque equipment and associated products for major oil and gas service companies. Key markets include Africa, North and South America, Canada, Europe, the Far East, Middle East and Russia.

AMC Engineering Ltd’s headquarters are located at Findon near Aberdeen and the company also has a base at Lybster in Caithness. In addition, it opened AMC Torque Solutions Inc. in Houston in 2010. In the current financial year, the company predicts that turnover is set to exceed £14 million.

AMC Engineering Ltd managing director Andrew Polson said: “This significant deal is the latest phase in our long and established relationship with Halliburton Energy Services and it is one of the biggest projects of its kind for AMC Engineering Ltd, so far.

“Full consultation with the client throughout production meant that, as ever, we were able to deliver a product of a very high standard which met specific, individual needs.”

He added: “The containerised workshop side of the business is showing strong signs of future growth due to the flexible and mobile nature of the technology and we are already in negotiations regarding further deals with other service companies.”

Halliburton Energy Services R&M Manager Chris Pitt added: “AMC Engineering Ltd’s proven track record as international specialists in this field made them an obvious choice for this project, and we are delighted to continue our relationship with the company through this deal.”
