USA: Representatives Charge Administration to Prioritize Dredging

Representatives Charge Administration to Prioritize Dredging

U.S. Representatives Cedric Richmond (LA-02) and Michael G. Grimm (NY-11) led twenty-five U.S. Representatives in submitting the letter to Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

The letter was sent in response to a recent policy statement that questioned the additional investment of Harbor Maintenance Tax revenues as called for in S. 601, the Water Resources Development Act of 2013.

Earlier this year, Rep. Richmond formed the Congressional Maritime Caucus along with Rep. Grimm to bring attention to the needs of the maritime industry. The Caucus works to raise awareness among members of Congress on a broad range of maritime-related topics with the goal of advocating for issues that impact the U.S. economy.
