South Haven Officials Unveil Black River Dredging Plan

South Haven officials say that dredging of the Black River at the Museum Municipal Marina site will be done over the next six weeks, weather permitting.

Contracted crews will be removing 34 hundred cubic yards of silt from the river bottom, eventually placing it at a site near the Black River Boat Launch.

This move came after museum officials asked city officials to address the matter, as several boats had touched bottom near the marina this summer due to near-record low water levels along the river.
