Vattenfall’s Offshore Hotel Finds Its Sea Legs (VIDEO)

Vattenfall has shared a video of its offshore wind farm accommodation platform, the future home for the service teams working at the 288MW DanTysk and the 288MW Sandbank offshore wind farm, being installed some 90 kilometres off the German North Sea coast.

The onshore construction of the accommodation platform has been completed and the six-storey structure has been shipped to its final location where it is being installed.

Here, Vattenfall will have one crew servicing both wind farms from the accommodation platform, letting the workers live close to work. Working 365 days a year in two-week shifts, they will look after operation and servicing of the wind farms’ 150 turbines.

The platform is expected to be fully connected and in operation in August.
