Vector Technology Group Recognized for MWCS Subsea Project in GoM

This week saw Vector Technology Group Subsea Division deliver its solutions for the Marine Well Containment System Project in the GOM.

The scope of supply was to design, manufacture, assemble and test two safety systems to connect two free standing risers at the top and bottom locations that could be deployed in the GOM in the event of a deep water well incident.

Chris lee Executive Vice President of Vectors Subsea Division explains : “After our initial involvement in the recovery of the Macondo incident Vector were approached to design a system that could be available in the GOM to aid containment of uncontrolled deep water wells. This project has run over 2 years and has been a significant step forward in our development. The client made their expectations clear from the outset, with safety, quality and schedule the order of priority, fortunately VTG exceeded the expectation in all areas and is particularly proud to report zero HSE incidents recorded ”.

He continues “Capping stacks and containment systems have taken a life of their own over the last two years. Vector’s technology can be found on such safety systems globally including but not limited to The Artic, South Africa, Europe, Singapore and of course the Gulf of Mexico. While we sincerely hope these systems never need to be deployed we are proud to have been recognised by the industry as the leading technology in these high profile safety systems”.
