VIDEO: Closeup of Tanker Damaged in Dardanelles Collision

The Marshal Islands-flagged product tanker M/T STI Pimlico has arrived at Turkish Besiktas Shipyard for repairs of damages sustained after it collided with a Celestyal Cruises ship in the Dardanelles strait, Turkey on 27th of June.

The shipyard released the video showing the bruised tanker with considerable structural damage to its port beam.

The vessel is owned by Scorpio Tankers of Monaco and under management of Claus-Peter Often Tankschiffreederei of Germany.

The work scope at Besiktas will include replacement of steel, blasting and painting of affected ballast/cargo tanks, renewal of damaged main deck outfitting, repairs of electrical systems and piping.
