Video: construction of Hoegh LNG’s eighth FSRU in two minutes

Norway-based floating LNG giant, Höegh LNG has posted a video on its social media showing the construction of its eighth floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) at the Hyundai Heavy Industries’ shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.

The 170,000-cbm FSRU will have a regas capacity of 750 MMscf/day. It is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2018.

Höegh LNG said before that the vessel was intended to serve the Penco-Lirquén LNG import terminal and the accompanying onshore gas-fired power plant in Chile.

However, as Chile’s third LNG import terminal is facing a delay due to issues with the project’s environmental approval, the FSRU could be reallocated to a different project.
