Project manager Rune Andersen said “The boats were released from 25.2 metres. All requirements were met, and these are some of the best Norsafe drops I have ever seen”.

The free-fall drops comprise the second part of the factory acceptance test for Statoil.

At the end of this month, the final davit tests will be conducted at Årsnes on the west coast of Norway. The totally enclosed GES45 free-fall lifeboat (TELB) is manufactured according to the latest SOLAS classification society and national authority requirements. The lifeboat is skid launched by HD45/SW45 davits. Norsafe’s free-fall lifeboats provide a secure and protected means of escape for persons on board vessels or platforms.
