VIDEO: Scandlines Hybrid Ferry Put into Operation

MV Copenhagen, which is the second of the company’s two new hybrid ferries built for the Rostock-Gedser route, left the Danish shipyard Fayard on December 19, arriving in Rostock a day later.

“The new ferries represent an investment of more than 140 million EUR per vessel and are a substantial upgrade of the central and eastern transport corridor between the European mainland and Scandinavia,” Søren Poulsgaard Jensen, Scandlines’ CEO, said.

On December 20, M/V Copenhagen carried out a practice run between Rostock and Gedser, according to Scandlines.

M/V Copenhagen has replaced M/V Kronprins Frederik, which will be used as a substitute ferry on both the Rostock-Gedser and Puttgarden-Rødby routes.

The video shows the first call of M/V Copenhagen at Rostock Port.
