Video: Ségolène Royal inaugurates DCNS/OpenHydro turbine
The French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy Ségolène Royal has officially inaugurated DCNS/OpenHydro tidal turbine in Brest.
The second DCNS/OpenHydro tidal turbine has been unveiled today in the Port of Brest.
This turbine will be installed at Paimpol-Bréhat demonstration project, jointly developed by DCNS and EDF, to form an array.
The first turbine was deployed in January this year 16 km off the coast of Brittany, France, at the water depths of 35 m.
The turbines have the rated capacity of 500 kW each, and a diameter of 16 metres.
