VIDEO: Shell’s Prelude – Around the world

Shell has released a new video of Prelude FLNG, the world’s first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project. The facility is currently being built in South Korea.

According to Shell, the film called “Prelude – Around the World” is a compilation of the major construction milestones achieved in 2014. The company filmed across four continents, covering everything from testing the offloading arms in France to installing the first processing module in South Korea.

Once complete, Prelude FLNG will be the largest floating facility ever built. Shell says it will unlock new energy resources offshore and produce approximately 3.6 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum to meet the growing demand.

The first site to use Shell’s FLNG will be the Prelude gas field, 200 kilometres (around 125 miles) off Australia’s north-west coast.
