Vietnam: SEAS Finishes and Delivers 40-m LCT Barge HIRUNDO

South East Asia shipyard, (SEAS), PIRIOU’s shipyard in Vietnam, has delivered the “HIRUNDO”, a 40-m LCT barge ordered in 2010, to SOLEXIA for its sea and air freight subsidiary “RMP CARAIBES” .

Delivered 1 month earlier than the contractual date, this ship will replace the ship currently in service, “Le Bouffi”, for the daily freight liaisons between St Martin and St Barthelemy. This ship is designed for the transport of moving loads (up to 20 tonnes per axle) with a bow door.

Transported as deck cargo on the “Clipper Grand”, its arrival in the West Indies is scheduled for the end of October.

The HIRUNDO is the first barge built by SEAS and illustrates its growth and the diversification in the type of ships built: crew-boats for the offshore oil industry, freezer tuna boats for fishing, barges for transport.
