Viking SeaTech’s Mooring Schools scheme was developed by Viking SeaTech employees in Perth, Australia. The scheme offers educational sessions to provide a broad understanding of mooring systems and their importance when planning offshore drilling activities. It has been offered to customers free of charge in Western Australia and the UK to date. Shortened sessions were run at OTC Houston on Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am and 2pm.

Viking SeaTech was acquired by the Actuant Corporation last year for $225 million and the successful mooring programme will be part of the showcase at the Actuant Energy stand (#4501).

Tom Bower, Viking SeaTech President – Americas, said: “We have been hugely successful with introducing our Mooring Schools scheme to clients worldwide. We see OTC as the perfect platform to introduce the technical aspects of mooring to a global audience.

“Viking SeaTech is one of the largest publically owned mooring companies in the world. With the backing of our parent company we possess great strength in numbers and are financially secure. Our leadership team spans four continents and possesses a wealth of valued industry experience. We have also invested heavily to upgrade our equipment to meet the latest health, safety and environmental standards.”

Viking SeaTech works in locations around the world, with bases in the UK, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and the USA. It also works with partners in Egypt, Ghana, South Africa and Canada.
