Vires picks Sevan Marine’s HiLoad tech for LNG terminal

Sevan Marine of Norway said its HiLoad LNG unit signed a technology licence agreement with Vires Energy Corporation for an LNG terminal in the Philippines.

Vires decided to move forward with the LNG receiving and regasification terminal following a feasibility study carried out in 2015, and has also signed an engineering service contract with HiLoad LNG, Sevan Marine informed in a statement on Monday.

The terminal will utilise the floating regas dock (FRD), based on the HiLoad technology, which, according to Sevan Marine that has acquired the rights to the technology in 2014, is an alternative to FSRUs when working with smaller volumes ranging from 50 to 200 mmscfd.

Sevan Marine noted, that discussions are currently ongoing with potential customers for similar solutions in South East Asia and Latin America.
