Vroon’s new AHTS Bound for Singapore Market

VOS Athena AHTS

Vroon Offshore Services (VOS), a shipping company established a century ago in the Port of Breskens, the Netherlands, have taken delivery of a new addition to their offshore fleet.

The vessel VOS Athena, 59.25 m in lenght, was delivered from the Fujian Southeast Shipyard in China at approximately 11.00 hours local time. She is an “A class” anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel and the last of a series of six vessels built at this yard for Vroon.

The “A-class” vessels are slightly more advanced than the “H-type” and “T-Type” AHTS vessels also operated by Vroon, having a bigger bow thruster (8 MT) and stern thruster (6 MT). Consequently, they have improved manoeuvring and station-keeping capabilities. VOS Athena has a DP-1 notation.

The vessel will leave the yard in the coming days and will be operated by Vroon Offshore Services Pte Ltd in Singapore.
