West Vancouver will revisit decision to clear confusion over ban vote

West Vancouver council, earlier in July, voted to ask Ottawa to ban LNG tankers in Howe Sound, but recent reports from the local media say that many councilors did not understand the content of motion they voted on.

Councilor Craig Cameron was reported saying that the vote was carried out after a presentation on a variety of environmental issues which is not the normal course of action, as the council had to ask for further reviews by the district staff.

The unanimous decision will now be revisited in September, after Woodfibre LNG presents its side of the issue.
