Special purpose vessel Rotra Ventre set sail with the last six tower sections from Windar’s facilities in the port of Avilés, Spain, to the Port of Ostend, where the REBO sites are serving as storage and pre-assembly points.

The first towers for the Belgian offshore wind farm arrived in Ostend at the end of March.

SeaMade will comprise 58 Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW turbines located 50 km off the Belgian coast in the North Sea.

The 487 MW wind farm is a combination of the 235 MW Mermaid and the 252 MW Seastar offshore wind projects.

The project produced first power in July, while full commissioning is expected by the end of the year.
