Wintermar Offshore Marine now owns largest Indonesian-flagged PSV

The management of PT Wintermar Offshore Marine has taken delivery of “WM Pacific”, the Largest Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) flying the Indonesian flag.

WM Pacific is Wintermar’s 4th and largest Platform Supply Vessel. She will be the only Indonesian flagged PSV that is equipped with Firefighting capability certified to FIFI 2 standard.

She is 83m long, equipped with DP2 (Dynamic Positioning) and classification ABS + A1 (E) Offshore Support Vessel notation. She is certified to participate in search and rescue operations. She has oil recovery capability and capable to transport methanol. She has 1,000m2 of deck space and her cabins can accommodate up to 58 persons.

The Company currently in the process of tendering for several contracts for WM Pacific to support oil and gas exploration in Indonesia as well as outside of Indonesia.

WM Pacific was built in China by POET Shipbuilding and Engineering Pte Ltd. She is owned by PT WM Offshore, a subsidiary of PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk, in partnership with PT Meratus Line. WM Pacific was funded by 30% shareholders funds and a 70% bank loan with an international financial institution.

Platform Supply Vessels are designed to supply offshore oil platforms, transport goods and personnel to and from offshore oil platforms and drilling mobile units. They also have Cargo tanks designed for drilling mud, pulverized cement, diesel fuel, potable and non-potable water, and chemicals used in the drilling process. Fuel, water, and chemicals are almost always required by drilling activities.

This is the third new vessel delivery for Wintermar in 2014, the first and second being 1 unit Anchor Handling Tug and 1 unit of 8000 BHP Anchor handling Tug Supply (AHTS). The Company has another 2 vessels expected for this year for a total capex of about USD60 million for the year.
