Wireline Engineering Secures Several International Contracts for Roller Bogie Technology (UK)

Wireline and well intervention technology specialist Wireline Engineering has secured £1.25million worth of international contracts in the last three months and completed first work in a number of new markets for the company.

The Aberdeen-headquartered company has won new contracts in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Nigeria and Vietnam to provide its game-changing Roller Bogie technology for downhole operations in deviated oil and gas wells.

The firm has also recently completed wireline runs with this technology in New Zealand, Thailand, Qatar and the UAE for the first time.

Wireline Engineering’s Roller Bogie product line has become accepted by many operators and oilfield service companies as the industry standard solution for running wireline tools in challenging deviated well conditions.

In response to growing international demand for its innovative technology, Wireline Engineering is increasing its fleet of Roller Bogie tools and introducing additional supply points for faster mobilisation and improved customer support in all regions.

The north-east company plans to open new office and engineering facilities in key international locations, most imminently Abu Dhabi, adding to current international bases in Malaysia, India, Egypt and the United States.

Its internationalisation plan also includes Brazil and West Africa, regions with significant potential for specialist wireline technologies.

Bill Petrie, managing director of Wireline Engineering, said: “We have won significant international contracts with a string of new and existing clients across Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.”

Our technology is performing well in the global marketplace and the Roller Bogie product line has become accepted not only in our domestic territory but also across a host of international markets. We have now won orders in over 60 countries, which is a tremendous achievement and testament to the adaptable nature of our products.

Wireline Engineering has enjoyed rapid international expansion in recent years and we now look forward to a period of consolidation and growth that will see us opening new facilities and strengthening our sales teams globally. We are also investing heavily in the development of new downhole product lines that will add further value to both our domestic and international customers.

Wireline Engineering was established in 1998 and its headquarters are at Blackburn on the outskirts of Aberdeen. It has international offices in the Americas, Middle East and Far East and employs 50 people worldwide.
