Woodside Appoints Non-Executive Director

Woodside has appointed Dr Sarah Ryan to its Board as a non-executive director effective 6 December 2012.

Dr Ryan joins Woodside as an independent director.Dr Ryan is a non-executive director of Aker Solutions ASA and a director of institutional investment firm Earnest Partners, where she is responsible for research and portfolio management. Prior to joining Earnest Partners, Dr Ryan worked for over 20 years in the oil and gas industry in various technical, operational and senior management positions, including 15 years with Schlumberger Limited.

Dr Ryan holds a B.Sc. in Geology, a B.Sc. (Hons I) in Geophysics and a PhD in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy.

Dr Pierre Jungels, who has served ten years on the Board, will retire on 7 December 2012.

Woodside Chairman, Mr Michael Chaney, paid tribute to Dr Jungels’ contribution to the Board: “Pierre has brought a wealth of experience in, and knowledge of, the international oil and gas industry to the Board’s deliberations during his ten-year tenure. Woodside has achieved significant growth over that period, including execution of the Pluto LNG Project, expansion of the North West Shelf and the development of several oil projects off Western Australia.”
