Woodside Extends Safe Astoria Deal for Another Month (Australia)

Australia’s Woodside Petroleum has decided to extend a contract for the use of Safe Astoria semi-submersible rig, Prosafe, the owner of the rig has announced.

With this, Australia’s largest LNG exporter has exercised the second of two 30-days options to use Safe Astoria at its North Rankin Redevelopment Project. The project is located 135km, north-west of Karratha,  offshore Western Australia.

The value of the contract, which expires on December 30, is estimated at USD 5.7 million. The rig offers accommodation for a crew of 349.
