Woodside extends services contract with GCS (Australia)

Construction services group Global Construction Services Limited (GCS) has been awarded a contract extension by Woodside as Operator of the Australia’s North West Shelf  (NWS) Project.

The scope of the contract variation is for the ongoing supply, maintenance, storage, transport and handling of all scaffolding equipment to December 31, 2017, with two further 12 month extension options, on both offshore and onshore locations.

GCS has said that the contract will be undertaken by GCS Group subsidiary, GCS Integrated Services Pty Ltd, based in the Northwest hub of Karratha.

GCS Group Managing Director, Enzo Gullotti, said: “We are pleased this contract has been extended to December 31, 2017, as it is testament to the quality of the products and services GCS has been providing Woodside over the last 2 years.”

According to GCS, the company was awarded the principal scaffolding contract for all Woodside’s NWS Projects in 2013.

North West Shelf Project

As stated on Woodside’s website, the NWS Project’s facilities represent one of Australia’s largest oil and gas developments and an investment of more than $34 billion.

Accounting for more than one third of Australia’s oil and gas production, the NWS Project is a joint venture between six major international companies. It is one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producers, supplying oil and gas to Australian and international markets from huge offshore gas, oil and condensate fields in the Carnarvon Basin off the north-west coast of Australia.
