WorleyParsons gets Gjøa platform modifications FEED

Engie E&P Norge has awarded Rosenberg WorleyParsons the front end engineering and design (FEED) study for modifications at the Gjøa platform in the North Sea.

The award follows an application by Wintershall of the development concept for the Skarfjell field, locate in the northeastern North Sea approximately 20 kilometers southwest of the Engie-operated Gjøa platform, and about 130 kilometers northwest of Bergen.

Under the proposed solution, the Skarfjell reservoir will be connected to the nearby Gjøa platform via a subsea tie-back.

Rosenberg WorleyParsons AS will now provide a FEED-study to plan the required modifications to the Gjøa installation to get it ready for Skarfjell tie-in.

The contract also includes an option for the execution phase of the project – engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC).

“The tie back of Skarfjell production to Gjøa is in line with ENGIE E&P’s strategy to make Gjøa a hub for future fields in the area and to extend the lifetime of the Gjøa platform,” Engie said on Friday.

Skarfjell is expected to yield between 60 – 140 million barrels of oil equivalents.
