WWL Starts Shifting Toyotas from Japan to North America

Norwegian RoRo shipping and factory-to-dealer logistics provider Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics AS (WWL) has signed an agreement with Japanese car maker Toyota Motor Corporation to provide ocean transportation of their passenger cars from Japan to North America.

The first vessel departed from Japan on September 12 and will arrive at the U.S. East Coast by early October.

Port of Loading is the Toyota dedicated Tahara ocean terminal which is located next to the Toyota Tahara plant in Japan’s Aichi prefecture and ports of discharge will be Jacksonville, Florida and Newark, New Jersey.

WWL already provides Toyota Motor Corporation with ocean services for completely built units from Japan to Europe and Toyota Group companies with ocean and land-based services in Europe, USA, Australia and Africa.
