Yemen LNG Awards 25 Yemenis with Scholarships

Yemen LNG awarded in Sana’a yesterday scholarships to 25 young Yemeni male and female students to pursue their undergraduate and graduate degrees in France. The award ceremony took place under the auspices of H.E. the Minister of Oil and Minerals Mr. Amir Salem Al-Aidaroos and H.E. the Ambassador of France to Yemen, Mr. Joseph Silva.

Out of the 25 scholarship winners identified following a competitive selection process, 8 students have been admitted to undergraduate programs and the remaining 17 to master degree programs.

Speaking on the occasion, General Manager of Yemen LNG François Rafin noted that, “the Yemen LNG scholarship program is a contribution to the future of Yemen. Yemen LNG awards 100 new scholarships each year to attend Yemeni and French universities. For each LNG cargo loaded at Balhaf there is a new scholarship awarded”.

The scholarships cover a broad domain of sciences including engineering, marketing, law, accounting, business management, health, agriculture, tourism, and transportation.

The event was also marked by the attendance of officials from the Ministry of Oil & Minerals, Yemen Gas Company, the General Authority for Social Security & Pensions, the French Cultural Center, and by representatives of the media.
