Yingkou Port Head Investigated for Corruption

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), the highest internal-control institution of the Communist Party of China, is currently investigating the president of Yingkou Port Group Gao Baoyu for alleged corruption activities, the Chinese daily Xinhua reports.

The CCID issued a brief statement on Friday saying that Gao is being investigated for ”serious violation of the law,”  and that he is cooperative.

Yingkou Port Group vice-president has temporarily taken over the position, with operations running as usual.

Gao has served as the Group’s president since 2000.

Yingkou port ranked ninth in the country in container throughput in 2014, and is one of the major seaports in northeastern China.
