Yuexin Delivers AHTS to Sinopec (China)

China’s Yuexin Shipyad has delivered the Kan Tan 225 AHTS to Sinopec. The vessel of Havyard 843 CD design was named at the ceremony in the shipyard near Shanghai on Monday.

Havyard characterizes the vessel as being the next generation of medium sized AHTSs.

“This is the first vessel of this specific Havyard 843 CD design that has been constructed. It is an AHTS doing more than 17 knots, it is 81 metres in length with a breadth of 19.5 metres,” says Director for International Projects at Havyard Ship Technology AS, Bjørn Bergsnes.

Bergsnes adds:”Kan Tan 225 is a complicated prototype of a high standard. The Chinese shipyard therefore uses slightly longer time on constructing this vessel compared to slightly easier types of vessels that they have previously constructed. It is very impressive to see what they now have managed to complete.”

The vessel has a deck area of 560 square meters and it can accommodate a crew of 34 persons.
