2H Offshore Announces New Appointments (UK)

2H Offshore has moved to strengthen its global management team with the appointment of Tim Eyles as its managing director and David Walters as a principal director. The appointments have been made as one of 2H’s founders Steve Hatton leaves Acteon in search of new challenges.

Steve was hugely influential at 2H and his former colleagues are united in wishing him well in the future.

Tim joined 2H in 1998 after gaining a first in civil engineering and a master’s degree from the University of Surrey. He has spent most of his time with 2H in the UK. David joined 2H a year earlier after graduating from the same university. Following a short period in the UK, David moved to Houston to help set up 2H’s office there. Tim and David have been instrumental in the development of some of 2H’s key riser technologies and taken part in groundbreaking projects for several of the company’s blue-chip clients.

It is a reflection of 2H’s commitment to developing the careers and capabilities of its staff that both these senior appointments are from within. Tim is determined to maintain this formula, stressing that 2H’s continuing success relies on providing people with the opportunity to express themselves professionally and achieve their full career potential.

2H’s reputation is based on a combination of spirited leadership, technical excellence and an intense focus on its customers, the last helped by having strong regional presences. Tim and David will continue to share the running of the Woking and Houston offices, respectively, and retain their front-line involvement in the work being done at each location.

Tim and David’s appointments have the overwhelming support of the Acteon senior management team, not least because of the strong continuity they provide as 2H strives to reinforce its leading position in a fiercely competitive business.
