2M Cuts Condor Service

The 2M alliance between two of the world’s largest container carriers – Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Company – is cancelling its so-called Condor service connecting Asia and Europe, effective mid-September.

The Condor service, which has a nominal weekly capacity of 9,500 TEU, will cease operation on September 14, and it will be deployed as a seasonal service if there is sufficient demand, MSC says in a statement

MSC says that further optimisation of the Asia-Europe Network is currently being planned, and full rotations and service details will be communicated in the third week of August.

All the above network changes apply equally to both MSC and Maersk Line and the changes are expected to be fully effective by the fourth quarter of 2015.
