2nd SENER Foundation’s PH.D. Thesis Awards Up for Grabs

SENER Foundation has launched the second edition of the SENER Foundation Awards for Best PH.D. Thesis 2013. This annual award has the aim to stimulate research at the highest level in the sciences and technologies in which SENER develops its activity: Aerospace, Power and Process, Infrastructures and Transport, and Marine.

Therefore,  all persons who have obtained a doctoral degree by a European university, in one of the scientific-technological areas aforementioned, in the year of the date of the call are eligible for the award. Applicants shall submit their theses addressed to Fundación SENER (C/Severo Ochoa 4 (PTM) Tres Cantos – 28760 Madrid, Spain). The deadline for receipt of nominations is December 20, 2013 at 13:30 hours.

The Jury, appointed by the President of the SENER Foundation, shall consist of professors from scientific and technological areas of the competition, doctors from SENER’s technical team, the trustees of the SENER Foundation having a doctoral degree and the director of the SENER Foundation. The jury will determine the criteria for assessing the excellence of the thesis competition, based in the relevance and applicability of research in science and technology areas of the competition, the quality and the clarity of the presentation.

The jury’s final decision will be announced in the first quarter of 2014. The award is a single prize worth 12,000 Euros for the author of the thesis and 3,000 Euros for the thesis director or directors. The awards ceremony will take place in a private ceremony in the month of April 2014.
