4POWER Offshore Wind Conclusions Delivered to EU Officials
At the closing conference of the EU project 4POWER on November 18 in Groningen, representatives of the EU and its individual regions exchanged their experiences and views on the best practice models in the development of offshore wind energy.
In the past few years, the 4POWER project promoted sharing knowledge between different regions that are well developed in the field of offshore wind energy. Through the project, a common knowledge base in relation to current and future challenges of offshore wind energy such as cost reduction, network expansion and logistical issues was created.
Results of the project, comprising individual experiences at the regional level and recommendations for political action on the EU level, are presented in two final publications with the titles “Regional Policies for Offshore Wind: A Guidebook” and “EU and Regional Policies for Offshore Wind: Creating Synergies”. At the conference, both publications were handed over to the representative of the Committee of the Regions, Bote Wilpstra.
The documents are also provided to representatives of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
