Norway: Rolls Royce Installs Large PG-KRAL Pumps

PG has worked in close cooperation with Rolls Royce Brattvaag to develop a full line of main hydraulic feed pumps to their AHTS-, and Trawler- winches over the past few years.

Based on KRAL’s most recognized CL and CG range of tripple-screw-pump products – which have been extensively tested at RRB’s test fields with exceptionally good results – delivery now commence for commercial projects at high volumes.

First major AHTS-deliveries were secured for Edison Chouest’s Navship / Brazil newbuild projects H/N 129 and 130, to which PG deliver pumps with a total power absorbed of 2,8MW through; 1 x CGJV 275 / 1 x CGJF 275 / 8 x CLE 450 / 2 x CLE 1710 / and 4 x CLE 3550 pumps in the power pack.

The products for these applications represent a significant upgrade in terms of shaft sealing- and pressure range compared to their previously installed units, making their allready robust winching systems even more durable, and extending mean-time-between-service considderably. KRAL have accordingly invested in further machinery and fascilities to cover these large, and demanding deliveries.
