Business & Finance

Athens-based dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has secured a new charter deal for its Panamax vessel Dione at a higher rate.

The 2001-built ship is scheduled to start working for Hong Kong-based Ausca Shipping Limited on January 23.

The 75,172 dwt dry bulk vessels would earn a gross charter rate of USD 10,350 per day for a period of fourteen to about seventeen months.

Diana Shipping said that the employment is anticipated to generate some USD 4.35 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Dione is currently chartered to Hong Kong’s Caravel Shipping Limited at a gross charter rate of USD 7,200 per day for the first ninety days of the charter period and USD 7,050 per day for the balance period of the time charter.

The company’s fleet consists of 50 dry bulk vessels with a combined carrying capacity of 5.8 million dwt.
