VOS Takes Delivery of New AHTS Vessel from Chinese Shipyard-

Vroon Offshore Services announced that the company has taken delivery of a new addition to their offshore fleet, VOS Athena. The vessel was delivered from the Fujian Southeast Shipyard in China at approximately 11.00 hours local time. She is an “A class” anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel and the last of a series of six vessels built at this yard for Vroon.

The “A-class” vessels are slightly more advanced than the “H-type” and “T-Type” AHTS vessels also operated by Vroon, having a bigger bow thruster (8 MT) and stern thruster (6 MT). Consequently, they have improved manoeuvring and station-keeping capabilities. VOS Athena has a DP-1 notation.

The vessel will leave the yard in the coming days and will be operated by Vroon Offshore Services Pte Ltd in Singapore.
