Major Investment Underway for Mustang Marine's New Boat Yard

Building is now underway of a new £1.5 million pound boat building fabrication hall at Pembroke Port – the first major investment in the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone. The new facility, being built for Mustang Marine following investment by the Port of Milford Haven, is set to double the size of workboat construction operations and create more than one hundred jobs at Mustang Marine in response to growing demand from around the world.

The expansion is the second and most ambitious part of a phased development in the historic former Royal Dockyard that in its illustrious 200 year history has launched five Royal Yachts and more than 200 Royal Navy vessels. Mustang Marine has carried forward this workboat-building pedigree for more than thirty years, sending orders as far afield China and Africa. It’s hoped the expansion will see their operations double in size in the next three years.

The injection of capital by the Port of Milford Haven is part of a programme of planned investments aimed at boosting economic activity and jobs in the local area. The Trust Port is also planning a major project around Milford Haven that will create a new destination focussed on the marine-leisure, retail and fishing industries.
