LPG Carrier Explodes in Gulf of Thailand, Four Injured

Four people out of a crew of ten were hospitalized after the LPG carrier Pattarawadee 12 exploded in the Gulf of Thailand on Wednesday, local media reported.

The 1,000 dwt vessel was underway after it discharged its cargo at Bangpakong, central Thailand.

One of the four crewmembers was in critical condition, and is being treated at the Bangpakong Hospital along with the other three seafafers.

At the time of the incident, the tank aboard the ship was being cleared of remaining gas vapor.

An investigation is underway to establish the exact cause of the incident.

The relevant authorities said that the ship was not severely damaged.
