Mubadala extends Songa Venus rig contract

Mubadala Petroleum has decided to extend the contract for the Songa Venus offshore drilling rig, currently deployed in Malaysia.

The rig’s owner Songa Offshore SE said that the extension would cover an additional one firm well in Malaysia under the current contract terms and conditions.

Mubadala is using the rig for drilling at the SK 320 block, located off the coast of Sarawak.

The Songa Venus is an F&G L-900 design semi-submersible drilling rig, capable of operating in water depths up to 1,500 feet.
