Petrojarl Knarr FPSO reaches Norway

Aibel will now prepare the FPSO before installation on the Knarr field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The job provides for full employment at the yard for the upcoming weeks, before Petrojarl Knarr once again departs the Aibel yard by the end of September.

“The preparation of Petrojarl Knarr emphasizes Aibel’s expertise in terms of the requirements on the Norwegian continental shelf. It also speaks volumes of the company’s versatile expertise and capacity at the shipyard in Haugesund,” Aibel said in a press release.

The Petrojarl Knarr FPSO was built by Samsung in Korea for Teekay. The floating production vessel is 256 metres long and 48 metres wide. The FPSO has a production capacity of 63,000 barrels a day, and a storage capacity of 800,000 barrels. The Petrojarl Knarr FPSO will operate on the Knarr field located west of Florø for BG Norge, a subsidiary of the British oil and gas giant, BG Group
