Global Maritime Group names regional managing director

Global Maritime Group has informed that Alberto Morandi’s has taken on a new extended role in the new Global Maritime Group as Group Regional Managing Director Americas in addition to his current role as Managing Director for American Global Maritime Consultancy & Engineering.  

The company says that Morandi has 30 years’ experience as naval architect and structural engineer from working in Brazil, North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. He has been with Global Maritime since 1998, having held various executive positions such as project manager with Global Maritime Consultancy in London, Vice-President of Engineering, Executive Vice-President and currently President of American Global Maritime in Houston. In 2013 and 2014 he led the American Global Maritime unit to achieve its highest annual results in the history.

Alberto Morandi says: “I am looking forward to bringing our region, offices and the Global Maritime Group into its next development phase in America and provide an enhanced service and product package to our clients.”

According to Global Maritime Group, Morandi brings with him extensive experience in engineering, assurance and contracting for the transportation and installation of drilling rigs, as well as surface and subsea structures for major offshore construction projects. He is educated in Naval Architecture from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow in the UK.
