U.S. offshore rig count continues downward trend

Following a decline in the previous two weeks, the U.S. offshore rig count fell by one more unit last week according to weekly rig count reports by the oilfield services provider Baker Hughes. 


BHI Rig Count: U.S. +3 to 754 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 3 rigs from last week to 754, with oil rigs up 5 to 602, gas rigs down 2 to 151, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.

U.S. Rig Count is up 252 rigs from last year’s count of 502, with oil rigs up 202, gas rigs up 49, and miscellaneous rigs up 1.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 1 rig from last week to 17 and down 10 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada +10 to 341 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is up 10 rigs from last week to 341, with oil rigs up 12 to 206 and gas rigs down 2 to 135.

Canadian Rig Count is up 166 rigs from last year’s count of 175, with oil rigs up 123 and gas rigs up 43.
