2H Offshore Celebrates 20th Anniversary (USA)

2H Offshore, an Acteon company, marks its 20th anniversary this month with the launch of a special section on its website celebrating the company’s history. The company, founded in 1993 by Steve Hatton and Dr. Hugh Howells in London, currently employs more than 250 people globally and now has offices located in London, Aberdeen, Houston, Kuala Lumpur, Rio de Janeiro, Perth and Beijing.

The riser and conductor engineering specialists have designed many complex riser systems for major offshore developments around the world including the first bundled hybrid riser concept for Girassol in Angola and the deepest ever TTRs for Devil’s Tower. The company is currently managing the detailed design and delivery management of the riser systems for Chevron’s Big Foot development.

“2H has come a long way in the last 20 years, from performing small engineering studies for projects in 1000ft water depth to deepwater projects in more than 10,000ft of water depth; through development of steel catenary and freestanding riser technology; to taking engineering and procurement responsibility for the riser systems on a number of major offshore production systems,” said 2H Offshore founder and principal director Dr. Hugh Howells. “It has given me enormous pleasure and job satisfaction being involved in these developments and projects for which I would like to thank our clients, who have put their trust in us, and an exceptional team that rises so enthusiastically and capably to the ever changing challenges of riser engineering.”
