Statens Vegvesen

The work scope for this project consists of the construction of an underwater tunnel which will go under Kvernsundet and connect Grytøy and Bjarkøy together and the construction of the sea fillings between Grytøy and Sandsøy.

A new road, which will connect Grytøy, Bjarkøy and Sandsøy, will also be constructed. The road will be approximately 6.5 km long, of which 3.2 km will be an underwater tunnel with portals.

The contractors are required to construct 5 sea fillings, using the stones from the borrow pit on Grytøy (Fenes) and the tunnel. Also, three sea fillings cannot be reached from land, which will require sea excavating equipment.

The contractors have to acquire a blast permit for pitching stones.

The tender is open until May 28, 2014.
