Port Dolphin Energy looks for deadline extension

PDE looks for deadline extension

Port Dolphin Energy filed a request with the U.S. FERC for the extension of the deadline by which the company has to finish the onshore pipeline section that would interconnect with its Deepwater Port terminal offshore Tampa, Florida.

PDE, a unit of Höegh LNG, asked for the deadline to be moved to December 31, 2018, in order to market its modified business plan, align upstream and downstream participants, and to construct the authorized facilities, as it stands in the request.

The project was planned as an LNG receiving terminal but forecasts and growing demand for natural gas in the state of Florida means the company is now working on the arrangements for the US produced LNG to be  delivered to the facility for regasification and further delivery to the Florida market.

The Port Dolphin deepwater port would be capable of mooring Shuttle-and regasification vessels (SRV) designed to carry LNG and regasify it before offloading it for transport to shore.
