Connect LNG receives grant for UTS system

Oslo-based Connect LNG on Monday informed that a grant from Innovation Norway’s Environmental Technology fund to develop its transfer system has recently been approved.

Connect LNG said in a statement, the grant for the “first full-scale universal transfer system (UTS) system” is one of the largest Norwegian government has given last year.

The company intends to build the UTS together with Herøya Industrial Park at its Port of Grenland.

According to connect LNG, UTS is a solution aimed to decrease the marine investment cost when constructing an LNG terminal as it eliminates the necessity to build a dedicated jetty to accommodate small-scale LNG vessels. The UTS connects to a terminal utilizing floating flexible pipes for fluid transfer.
