Zeebrugge set to re-export LNG cargo to Argentina

Vessels

Fluxys-operated Zeebrugge LNG terminal in Belgium is set to re-export a cargo of chilled gas aboard the 160,000 cbm Golar Crystal LNG carrier.

The vessel, delivered to its owner Golar LNG in May 2014, is scheduled to dock at the Zeebrugge terminal’s jetty on April 25.

Following the loading of previously imported LNG the vessel will depart to Argentina on April 27, port data reveals.

The destination of the vessel is the GNL Escobar located on the Paraná River, about 30 miles outside Buenos Aires. The facility provided by Excelerate Energy that started up in 2011 has a baseload capacity of 500 mmscf per day.

Re-exportation of LNG lets marketers and suppliers store the fuel, while waiting for price signals before delivering their chilled gas to the higher-paying markets.
